Craftsman ???? Tool
« on: September 19, 2018, 07:57:24 PM »
Had this on Tool  Talk and figure it might be a bulb planting tool.  However, sure seems overkill on construction.  The blade is just over 1/8" thick, three stainless rivets in the handle and it is of a very hard plastic?.  The blade is stainless, sharp on one side and a saw on the other with a sharpened notch at the end (somewhat like a skinning knife). On the back side are inch numbers, 1 through 4.  Seems like an expensive item to plant bulbs.  Note: it has a Craftsman number Y6 40106 but it doesn't lead to anything at Sears.  Watcha think?

Yep a garden trowel. The serrated side is for cutting roots limbs etc. The measurements are for depth measurements.

Can't say I've ever seen a Craftsman one.

Well, Oldnslo hit the right nail, how he found it in sears I don't know, but as shown it is a "Garden Pal" and no longer available.  Seems over built to do the bulb planting job, but stainless all the way through the handle with a stainless cap might have been to cut through electric or gas lines.
