Title: gas welding question
Post by: nonhog on March 19, 2020, 10:25:02 PM
I'm selling my gas set up (possibly to a friend) Is there markings on the bottles that state the size? Or do I measure?
Want to describe them accurately.
Thanks!

oxy 8" width (best I can tell) only thing close on the charts I saw was 7" at 48" tall would be about 150 cf
Act, 36" tall and 10" wide shows 200cf

both have gas in them

Have Smith gauge hose set up MB54A-510

guess on value? roll of TP?

Not sure I can help, but if the cylinders are in still in test inspection date interval and if you have original purchase receipts, then the rig would be worth much more. Also are the regulators single or dual stage? -- dual stage would be worth more. Without actually seeing it, its just a WAG on value.

Some cylinders have their capacity stamped around the neck by the distributor, but most don't. They are usually sized by their external dimensions.

Been a few yrs since I was in the gas business but iirc the 200 oxygen size is stamped on the shoulder with 2200psi and a 300 cu ft size would have a higher psi but it has been a while. I can tell em by sight but don't know the dims off hand. A 150 cuft is what you have there described I think. And a 200 is bigger around and a bit taller. And a 300 taller than the 200.

The acetylene is probably a 3 size if you have a 125 or 150 oxygen. And a #4 would have a 200 oxygen generally.

Thanks guys!
I have them sold for $250.00
Under the recent circumstances I am okay with that.
It's to a friend.
