For tonight a Dogfish Head Rasion D'Extra

A Belgian Brown, loaded with malt, brown sugar and raisin. A bit on the sweet side, but she'll knock you down at around 15%!

New Holland Brewing Dragons Milk Reserve.

The regular dragons milk is a smooth very tasty (and pricey) stout. Their reserves are aged in bourbon barrels.

When new these are a bit heavy on the bourbon taste. However this one has been in my fridge for a bit. It has mellowed down and is rather smooth.

This time the bourbon mixes well and gives a nice smooth taste along with a vanilla accent and a small sweetness.

Another dark beer from a smaller brewery and something different to snack on.

I like the looks of that porter....

The anchovy..... Not so much, but I'd definitely have to give them a try after I had a beer or two.

I'd give the anchovy a whirl.  Had on pizza once many years ago.  Didn't hate it.  My palate has broadened since then and I am enjoying unique flavors.  Have a foodie buddy who I will try anything he makes even if it is something I don't normally eat.  haven't been disappointed yet.

I had some US beers show up today , here’s the first , I thought I’d try …

Firestone Walker , out of Paso Robles , Ca. Hazy IPA , 5.6%. I’ve had some of their brews before ….. wasn’t disappointed…. Easy drinking !!

Paso Robles is probably more known for its Wines , we did a tasting there that same year we got to the GTG when we traveled through there on the way back up to San Fran.

I've been liking Hazy IPAs lately as well.

This one is by Oskar Blues they have breweries in Colorado, North Carolina, and Texas.

Guinness is kinda unique. It's a taste of its own. It's smooth and leaves no bitter after taste.  I like it.

However stouts come in all sorts of flavors (pun intended) if your into strong you can get a bourbon barrel stout. Or setter ones like milk stout (more popular)

I like a good stout. I'm a darker beer kinda guy for the most part. But I've had plenty that aren't dark that I really like as well.

Because someone who shall remain nameless keeps sending me photos of what he's drinking, while I'm still at work, I knocked off at a reasonable hour and went to the wholesalers on the way home. One each of these came home with me.

Back on the California beer tonight , had this one before….. liked it last time

I’m not a big drinker ….. but do enjoy just one which lasts before and with dinner . And it’s good to drink with the “ other half “ , she’s a red wine girl , often Australian Shiraz , NZ  Central Otago Pinot Noir , and sometimes Californian Zinfandel….
