We had one when I was a kid. I guess I used it long enough the novelty is lost on me. It was OK, but no big deal. I like electric start these days myself.

I remember this system  mostly because the engine would almost start, when the spring wound down.  Also the  time the ratchet broke,  and the winder about   broke my knuckles.    Remember if it was good why did they go back to a pull rope?
