Bonney 1/2 – 9/16 flare nut wrench.
« on: May 29, 2021, 10:33:03 PM »
I have a Bonney 5/8 – 11/16 flare nut wrench that I like and would like to find the matching ˝ - 9-16 version.

I like this one because it has a wide beam and is only 6 inches long. The part # is stamped on the backside of the wrench EF2022H.

I don't see many of the 6-point flare Bonney's but I'll keep my eyes open for you.

I was about to order that Bonney EF-1618H and then saw this one that looked like it was in better shape.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/133575569277?epid=1628452337&hash=item1f19b96f7d:g:qa4AAOSwLAtfruIg

I ordered it before I noticed he does not take returns but if it looks like the pictures it wont matter. I don’t know any thing about Bonney wrenches hope the handle section has rounded sides like my EF2022H.

Thanks

Bonney at Harry J. Epstein?

I was looking for a Bonney EF-1214H and found one at HJE but when I click on the picture it looks like the finish (plating) is all messed up.

I have never ordered from HJE so I don’t know how they handle pictures.

Call them up. They're great folks to deal with, and they'll answer your questions over the phone.

I received the Bonney EF-1618 from ebay and it is not like my old RF2022H.
The EF-1618H is polished chrome with no offset just a flat wrench.

My old EF2022H is satin finish with a healthy offset on both ends and slightly shorter average.

Is this old 40 + years old EF2022H (no dash) some kind of oddball government wrench or what. All of the Bonney EF wrenches I see on ebay are polished chrome with no offset?

Well, I have a pair of the smaller offset flare ends, in staggered sizes. Satin finish.
As well as flat flare ends, in satin finish.

I don't know what years they did the satin finish but I bought a stock of NOS Bonneys and the metrics were the satin finish and the SAE were full polish. It looks there is a good difference in the beam width between the 2 wrenches.

Those are nice but I was hoping to find more 6 point offset wrenches.

Without that EF2022H I could not have changed the power steering hose on my truck. The short length and the offset was just right to access the back of the PS pump.

Received 3 Bonney flare nut wrenches from Epstein’s the other day. All 3 are poliched chrome and look really nice. Thought it was strange that Epstein’s did not have any packing in the priority mail cardboard box.

My Loc-Rite flare wrenches have gotten brass compression nuts off of water lines that were so mangled by a prior technician that standard flare wrenches were rounding off instead of turning them.
