Are there any puller collectors here?
« on: August 29, 2018, 11:02:39 AM »
I have a large lot of Blue Point and Snap on pullers.  Anyone else collect pullers?  Fun to collect,  get to use a few.

My pullers are mostly users. I do enjoy using them though.

I will add any I encounter if the price is right, but especially if there is any chance I could ever see myself using it. Ya, I would be a user first, then a collector. To me though, tools I collect I will just as quickly put to use if need be.

I have quite a few pullers in my box. I prefer to use them more than collecting them.

When I see them reasonably priced like UB said. Jaw pullers mainly.  My set includes various Proto, Snap On, Craftsman, Blackhawk, OTC, Indestro, Armstrong,etc.. I don’t mess with the China pullers.

Good to have them around.

I have a few pullers but consider them users. But occasionally the pullers I have wont do the job and need to buy more.

I have recently been trying to find some Snap on pullers from the 50s or so,  hard to find.  here are a couple of them,  had to find some springs that fit.

I'll bet they're hard to find.

Neat pieces - you have some great stuff.

I've got a small group of pullers, all users. Nothing collectable.

One of my cardinal rules is to never buy tools that I could see failing at a critical time and injuring me. Pullers, actually, any and all pullers I work hard to only buy trusted quality brands. I don't have room in my box for import pullers, from anyone. Many import pullers look great setting in their nice new box, but never be deceived by a nice chrome puller set. Give me the rougher looking well used OTC, Blackhawk, Proto, Mac, or other quality brand any day over that nice shiny import set.

Always keep in mind many of the tasks we expect pullers to perform require thousands of pounds of force to be applied to the tool and the part being pulled on. That is a perfect recipe for a cheap tool to fail and shards of steel to shoot back in the blink of an eye and become lodged somewhere in your body! (Yup, I am serious, it can and does happen!)  ;)
