Title: I Need a Seal Driver
Post by: stokester on November 03, 2018, 05:53:29 PM
Yea, it's a special one for my motorcycle and it has to stand proud by .5mm so it does not get driven flush with the engine case.

Any machinists here who could make one from nylon, plastic or even hardwood?  I've been told the factory tool was nylon or plastic and some have made them out of hardwood on a lathe.

I have the drawing specifications.

Please PM me if you may be able to make one.

Nope, not one that will drive it to .5mm of the engine case.

Without knowing more specifics, seems that a .5mm washer on the outside of the seal would offer that stop to drive against.

Yea, that's my plan if I can't get a driver.

Thanks Scott

Not sure what you need, I'm willing to pay a reasonable price, trade work or tools.   The seal in question is over $40 and if accidentally driven flush to the case it may leak or be ruined if I remove it.

Look for a PM with the diagram.
