I have considered putting a SBC in the TR6. Not an uncommon conversion and the I6 isn't all that much lighter - the 6 weighs about 525 and the SBC about 600. Plenty of space in the engine bay the biggest problem is front pulley but that's a problem on the stock engine as well.

I've been contemplating making a 1990 Mercedes 560 sec Amg clone
I'd keep the stock 5.6 V8 till it pukes then go ls and gm tranny.

That would be an awesome car. The basic styling is classic and impeccable and it would preform like a hotrod. Excellent taste Jabbo.
