That box is in decent shape for it's age but not worth $425. You could of bought that roller, top box and plenty of tools for that price when the box was new.

Man, I'd really like to get a fixer-upper rollaway box and top box but the prices I'm seeing are making my head spin! :-\

At $425 I bet he still has that box. Probably worth $100 tops which is 25-50 more than I would pay for it!
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!

I'm seeing the OP was near the first of November, so yes, the ad would have expired. Case closed.

I think some might see clean old friction slide boxes as perhaps unique or  novelty but I doubt few actual working wrenches would be willing to pay up for one these days. After all, they lack the bling and wow factor of new and shiny boxes fresh off the truck. I think it would take a guy that values the older tools and boxes to actually put one to use. Either that, or a guy with a very different mindset, perhaps an old guy that could care less what anyone else thinks of his box and tools!  :))

I'd pay $100 for a nice version of one of those boxes.  They're pretty scarce in these parts.

Those old boxes are making a comeback. Younger techs love 'em. I guess it's the "cool" factor and probably the lower prices as well.

The pic finally came up (slow internet).  Looks just like the one in the shop here, plus I have the matching 3 drawer top.  May I should clean it up,  but would need another box to put the contents into.   Got this  30 years ago at a relatives auction, with quite a few of his  tools from his years in a Chevy garage.
