GTD no. 7 tap wrench
« on: November 16, 2019, 10:33:12 PM »
Been after one for a while. These seem to retain excellent resale value. Found this one on eBay, looks to be dated 3/98, USA NOS shelf stock. A lot of the mystery substance that looks like rust wiped off with wd40. This is a big guy, up to 3/4 sq and 19.5" long.
Happy to finally have one.

That company made some top notch stuff, good score.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

I've yet to run into an instance I run out of room to swing big tap handles. If the hole is too close to the floor I pick the part up with the bridge crane. Lol. I even used to have a crazy big no. 8 iirc that was 40" long. It had tubular steel handles threaded into the forged head, but someone had brazed them on permanently. Greenfield even made larger sizes. I saw one about 6' long once.

As the saying goes, when it rains it pours...now I have two no. 7s. Old and new. Although this one isn't that old. Got it with some other goodies.
