C Parker 88 1/2 vise
« on: August 19, 2018, 09:15:27 PM »
I have unearthed a C Parker vise , but it is not a swivel base model. It is too heavy for me to lift so I can investigate it further.
I need some Parker vise info. Is 88 1/2 a model # or the weight of the vise, or both ?

Model number not weight. 94 lbs.

I think that one is missing the pipe jaws. But you may be able to score those still.

Non-swivel isn't an issue for me. I mounted my Chas. Parker on a post. Don't need to turn the vise if you can walk all the way around it. ;D

It is missing the regular jaws, but I didn't think it had pipe jaws

Thanks Guys ! I got a lot of info here, on Tool Talk, and from Garage Journal ( Don't smack me- The vise section there is comprehensive) .

Here is a catalog picture of the 88 1/2.

Cool.  I personally don't mind fixed base vises.  Too often the swivels turn when you don't want them to
