Boyd long beam wrench
« on: June 25, 2020, 03:54:37 PM »
This wrench came out of my sister's barn along with a lot of other tools. The first Boyd wrench I have ever seen and I like the 8-1/4" length. It is a 3/8 x 7/16 6pt DBE and very few markings with no COO. I did a search and all I could find was one similar 12pt wrench on the bay. Anybody know anything about these?

no but it looks very similar to some old vanadium and or older cornwell.  i would  guess maybe some custom build stuff with a special use.

Yeah, that forging looks pretty crude. In fact it looks to me like the larger 7/16 side was added on and then ground, versus being completely forged that way.

I can add nothing, except I too have at least one old Boyd wrench if not two. Never thought much about the brand though I will admit.
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!

I have a Boyd DBE too, and I agree- looks just like one of the hand forged vanadium/cornwell/mac/wright wrenches. I store it with them.
