Some Precision Goodness
« on: October 16, 2023, 10:57:15 AM »
Most of us know how it is...  if you're a mechanic, you like tools and are contacted when folks you know are trying to dispose of items after a loved-one's passing or just helping with the cleaning out of a garage.  This also pertains to old radios for me as I'm known as one who repairs radios, both auto and tube.

While there are times where you take things just to help there are many a time where treasures show up.  I've been assisting my neighbor with the task of evaluating and passing on the numerous electronic items and tools her late husband had.  A few gems there with more to go.

Recently my sister-in-law was assisting a friend with the clean-out of her late uncle's home and shop.  This friend has no concept of possibly saving things even if it is just to give to someone who could put it to use.  This uncle was a machinist, photographer, model train enthusiast among other things.  My SIL rescued many items from the dumpster to pass on to the local model train club and offered a few items for me as shipping of any large items would cost prohibitive.

So after all that I just received a Starrett caliper; micrometer, some small hole gauges and a small parallel.  In addition a small Federal dial indicator and a vintage map measure device.

Some very nice, top quality items you got.

Sadly a lot of good stuff gets trashed simply because its old.

Really nice!
MAGA

If you can’t fix it with a hammer, it must be electrical.
