Title: New to me Pickup
Post by: muddy on March 17, 2024, 03:46:25 PM
Some may remember I was in need of a new to me Pickup. As the old one has a rotted frame.

Well I picked up this 2006 2500. It's short bed and gas.

Two things I'll have to get used to. The old truck was diesel and you just leaned your foot into it to let the torque pull you through. This one will have to down shift and wind up to keep up. I know it'll handle what I pull but it won't set the world on fire doing it. However the used diesel market (all the market actually) is crazy.

It's only has 87,000 miles on it and pretty clean for a almost 20 yr old truck. It has some flaws that I need to address. But I hope it will serve me well like my old one.

I'll send you over a Ford badge to stick on it...that'll help the lack of power.

Very pretty truck mudman. Also, nice that it's a more door and not a single cab. Plenty of room for the Mrs. and the Jr. Muddies too!

Looks great.  I'd like something like that, need to get off my butt and look for one.  Well, I guess I can lay on my butt and look too.  But I'm afraid to get a Dodge.    :))

Having been a Dodge tech I like the looks of that a lot.  The miles are actually low.  I am working on a 97 Chevy 2500 extended cab long box, 145,000 miles, and zero rust.  For myself for summer use only, plan on having it a long time.  Price was in my category more so than a Dodge, in this area..
