Thank you.  Yes, the Cornwell handle is removable.  I got that one for $50 off CL a few years ago.  I couldn't pass that up.  Also got a brand new Wright 1" drive socket set for $75 a few years back as well.

50!  :-\ That was a great deal. The Wright set is almost obscene.

Well done!

Sure is.  I think the guy had just bought a truck and the previous owner had left them in it.

Here is my Snap on L78 1-1/2" dr ratchet head, no handle. Had to make a custom handle out of a hydraulic cylinder rod with a 1-3/8" O.D.

That must be pretty heavy. How long is the handle?

I think I made it 48" long. I will have to look.

My very first 3/4" ratchet was a Craftsman.  It's a very high quality piece.  ;D

most of my newer 3/4 sockets are Crafty. Whenever a socket was needed, sears would be the first stop to acquire one. 9 times out of 10 they would have it.

Just never could find the scratch to buy the ratchet.

For many years I just a SK sliding T for 3/4 I didn't even have a ratchet.

Funny you say that Slip - I can't recall ever seeing a Sears without at least one although I haven't been in one for a while now.

my last visit to Sears they still had a pretty good assortment of 3/4 stuff. IIRC the ratchet and several extensions, breaker bar were all still there. Waiting. patiently. for me to buy them. :-[

You are so right, this one is from back when Craftsmen actually meant quality too!

I once had a pretty good mixed brand set of 3/4" - including a backup Proto ratchet and several extensions - but I never had a use for them that my 1/2" Snappy's (up to 1 1/2") couldn't handle with a lot less heft and occupied storage space, so off they went.  Just couldn't bring myself to part with the Crafty and an extension or two, a few adapters, and maybe a socket or 2.
