Skinniest ratchet handle ever
« on: October 14, 2020, 07:29:29 PM »
I just got this older ( still unsure on age ) Husky Professional 20800 1/4 ratchet in and it's got to have the skinniest grip ever, it's even skinnier than the grip on a little Thorsen 77M.

Heres the grip hiding behind a pencil.

I think I'll put a screwdriver handle on it at some point, when I can find one that's just right for it.

A ratchet handle skinnier than a pinky finger doesn't sound good to me.

I don't think it would be comfortable in my bear paws. Neat find though!

It's definitely too skinny.
That will change when I find the right screwdriver handle to put on it.

If that were mine it would get a piece of gas hose on it in a minute! :D

I think I have some air line that might fit.

I find that for their gear head size the Bonney ratchet handles are a bit thin. Plus, once the knurling gets worn, they are a bear to hold with greasy hands. So, fuel hose gets shoved on. And the knurling - even if worn - really helps to hold the rubber hose on. Makes the ratchets much easier to use.

Seems very functional and doesn't look too homebrew either.

I gotta admit I didn't invent the idea, but heard about it years ago. As such I try to keep different sizes of rubber tube and/or gas hose handy for re-handle jobs.
