I picked this one up last night, drove 75 minutes, in the rain to get it, but for $40 I couldn't pass it up. I have another Toolmobile that this one will join.
It's a little rough, been repainted, needs new wheels, but overall it's solid. I'm thinking I might strip it down and refinish it to the original colors.

Outstanding purchase!! And for $40, that’s an amazing deal.
-
It has good bones and is well worth the effort of refinishing.
I'd be tempted to throw a set of Darcor Eternity II hooded casters on that beauty

Those are a nice set of wheels! I'll have to see what the diameter of the top of the fitting. I'll also check into the load limit of those casters.

No, it's some cast brackets.

I have installed hundreds of these casters on props and furniture...they are the standard for lightweight stuff on stage.
They are also available with a hard wheel and in a larger size (3" or 3 1/2")

The soft wheeled units are now available through Lee Valley Tools http://www.leevalley.com/en/ (http://www.leevalley.com/en/)

Great find! Never seen one around here, the Southeast.

What is the original color? Red? OD?
Just curious....

It would be red, get close to the paint that's on there now. In the catalog it was referred to as Chinese Red. Then there it's a silver stripe across the top, above the top drawer and a stripe on the bottom.
