Makita hammer drill
« on: October 14, 2018, 04:03:08 PM »
A recent addition to the shoppette at a bargain basement price.  Lots of side play at the chuck and stuck in hammer mode is fine by me.

The maker is reputable and where kind caught me.

English manufacture -- quite a surprise. Yet it's probably hands down better quality than most modern drills of equal size.

Well done!

Just put some new bearings in it, it will probably last a while.

No disassembly or repairs will be attempted.  Let sleeping dogs lie, in this case it works well enough with no odd grinding noises.

I used it like this five years now in the shop and it has not worsened much in that time.  It will see far less use here in the years to come.

With how your house is constructed I can see where a hammer drill is a good addition.

Every door and window I have to install have a date with this drill.   Cement posts and headers on most holes in the walls are not hand drill territory.

At least three doors and possibly 5 windows to go yet.  Saving up cash to get a go on one now.
