I stumbled across this kit for an unusual clock - I like to do electronics projects and am always looking for odd parts. I knew it was a pretty simple kit but I have to say it was disappointingly easy. Not even any soldering involved. But it works well, seems to keep pretty good time even if it is a little hard to read - perhaps it will become more natural with time (did I just do that?).
It powers off a USB charger and comes with the charger and cable but the cable is too short IMO. It will be replaced with a longer one as soon as I run my next set of errands. It has a provision for a backup battery although the battery is not included. It is easy to set the time and it didn't take very long to assemble.
It will also interface with an Arduino via the USB if you wish to fine tune the time or program in other functions. All in all a fun little knick knack. I will most likely be relocating it into a different case (which is included) or possibly building it into the top of my desk.
