Well daylight savings ended on Sunday and it has cooled off. Lows over night of 50f with day time in low 70s. Although I stopped on the top of the Kaimai Ranges the other night coming home from Auckland to take a sunset photo and had to put a sweatshirt on, for the first time in five months.

Winter storm warning in the Sierras tonight with snow levels getting down to 6000' with 12 to 35 inches possible. Glad we sit at 5000' and not higher. Could be chain controls in the mountains tomorrow but I won't be up there.

Cold front came through about noon and just rain here but snow in the mountains. Snow level got down to 7,000' but we are at 5,000' so we're good. I can see the snow on the ski runs across the valley up by Lake Tahoe. It was in the 80's the last 3 days but 50's today and we may get below freezing tonight. Fall doesn't start for a few days yet. :o

Damn -- I could not survive like that anymore. In my older age I crave a warm climate. Good luck DN !

Northern Maine has already been in the 20s and supposed to again tomorrow night . I dont expect a frost here on coast until November or so. This year has been so weird who knows.
