Any of you guys heard of/seen one of these?

A gas engine powered washing machine! 2 stroke, no less. And according to the restorer, parts are still available for it.

A new one to me.  8)

Yeah, if you ever hear or read someone talking about Maytag engines, this is what they are talking about. I think Ken W. mentioned a sale with a bunch of them the other day.

I guess people have taken these engines and made motorbikes, lawn mowers, and other things out of them. I had no idea!

I'm wondering if one of these could make a good generator. Looks like thick, deep cooling fins which can take long run times and long life. Maybe I should keep an eye out and try and make some thing unique?

Yep see them all the time at antique tractor and engine shows.

Its fun to see those old engines at a show. Generally they just start them up and they just putt along all afternoon long.  Dripping oil and steam coming out of an open block full of water. Think of what those engines  did for folks way back when.
