I bought this Cornwell off Ebay , I'm impressed with the quality.
Extremely well machined, and the selector I expected to be some kind of casting  but it's machined steel which is nice.

Always liked the overall look of the Cornwell ratchets, and definitely a fan of their nice big, easy-to-use selector knob.

They're definitely a very classy curvy design.
The selector certainly is nice, easy to use but not bulky.

My only complaint is the open hole in the head, they drill straight through for the spring and pawl detent but they don't have an oil fitting in the hole like they once did.
This one consequently had a little light rust inside.

Im slowly getting more Matcos in my ratchet drawer. I'm preferring Matco over Snap-on.

I figured why not for $15+ tax.

I'm not really sure if it's truly useful or a gimmick but that hat price it's worth finding out.

Found this ratchet at an estate sale place that's closing. COVID pretty much did them in. They've been closed for 2 years - finally allowed to open so they're clearing out and possibly going to reorganize. Found this in the first bin I looked at. A 1/2" proto pear head. He had ground down the handle slightly as he said it was pitted. It turned so I figured it'd be worth a shot for what he wanted. Cleaned and lubed, and put some heat shrink tubing on the handle to make it prettier and give it more grip.

I like heat shrink tubing for ratchet handles that need it. Cheap, lots of sizes so you can get the right fit, fairly decent grip. And it comes in several colors , so, if you're into that sort of thing or work at a shop that wants personal identification (I personally hate the grind mark method), heat shrink is a cheap alternative. Plus if you bugger it up or tear it - fast to redo.

I like the shrink wrap idea. thats a great idea.

My maintenance guys use colored phasing tape for marking tools. The maintenance super asked me what color I wanted on my replacement channel locks. I told him I marked all my tools with tape residue :hee20hee20hee:

I didn't come up with the idea, but have used it for a couple of years and it works well for me.   :great:
