ANOTHER ESTATE SALE VISE (2) 4-12-19
« on: April 12, 2019, 05:13:53 PM »
I got these 2 vises today at an estate sale. Craftsman and Columbian.  And no , I couldn't just leave them there. I'm not sure what site I read this on , but they were saying these Craftsman were fetching @ $ 75.00.  Not in my area.

Nice score -- vintage iron like that is getting more valuable by the year.

Nice save on those. Looks like someone used the edge of the jaws as a guide for a hacksaw. :o

I'm guilty of that myself.

On thin stuff you need to work close to the vise but good technique should keep you off of it.

I have one of those Crafty vises on the bench. Not bad, but it doesn't always stay put in the swivel.

The Columbians aren't worth much but people will pay for the Craftsman version. They are an ok vise, one step up from the exposed screw homeowner vises.
