Proto Professional long pattern combo wrenches
« on: April 20, 2019, 08:16:01 PM »
These wrenches are monsters, the 1-1/4" is 20" long!
When was the oval logo used, after Stanley takeover? These aren't ASD, just regular open end.

Very Impressive -- love the finish! I'm not sure, but they look 60s/70s vintage.

Thanks guys. It is 5/16" thru 1-1/4", although the 5/16 isn't a long pattern. The rest are, with an L on end of pn. Set me back a whopping  $80. The 1/2 box end only one that's been used. I really like the ergos.

Interesting, just measured them and each size is progressively 1" longer, again except 5/16" as it's not a long pattern. But the 3/8" is 7" long, 7/16" is 8", 1/2" is 9" etc.

I think that logo is from the '90s, but in any case, those are really sweet!

That PROTO logo is fairly recent. Elroy would guess 15 years old max

Real nice looking wrenches there, my Proamerica wrenches have this finish.
Not as well done overall but of I got a really good deal on them so I don't mind.
Always lookin' to learn

These aren't ASD, just regular open end.

Are the box ends regular or flank drive broach? I don't know for sure if/when Proto started copying flank drive but most of the higher end tool companies did in the mid '90s.
