I was an old member
« on: April 11, 2020, 07:33:01 AM »
Did something happen the old garage gazette? New owners or something? I still have my welcome email from 5-28-2012 but the forum says my sign in name doesnt exist so I have signed up again. Getting past the first 5 posts  was EXTREMELY difficult because it kept asking for a word related to 'Tractor car bus which is usually in a city'.  What is that about?

Russian spies crashed the site! Rusty had to rebuild the bionic man.  :33:

Thank you. I grew up during the Cold  War when the media had everyone convinced that Russia was our worst enemy.  We have learned that Russias economy is so weak that it only equals one American state  and China is our real threat.  My grandparents  built a bomb  shelter in the 1950s. Thats how bad it was

Welcome back. Our members were suffering from extreme withdrawal when the old site crashed due to an upgrade. Many people and businesses suffered.

The data center the old site was in did a system upgrade the wiped over 2000 servers. They had been getting Ddos attacks the caused the remote backups to be corrupted.

A friend parents had one of those in the front yard, underground.

Instead of fire drills we had air raid drills, ready for this. Told to get under the desk, put hands on head.

Now we have a virus floating around and the world is deserted.

No wonder baby boomers are tuff, we had nails for breakfast.

The house I grew up in Michigan had a bomb shelter.  Built in 1966.

Around the time or Y2K I buried a bunch of 30 cal ammo cans full of survival items , canned Spam , ammo , bic lighter , etc. It was the thing to do back then. Now 20 years later , I don't remember where I buried them.  Oh yeah, welcome back to GG.   I hope I put a can opener in those ammo cans.
