RIP Smokey
« on: September 10, 2018, 05:17:13 PM »
My much loved buddy, garage helper and outdoor enthusiast Smokey has died.  He's been losing weight and not having a lot of energy for awhile but we just chalked it up to him getting older (he was 16).  His weight got so low that we took him to the vet to be checked out and it turned out he had advanced cancer.  We brought him home and hoped for the best, but over the last few days things went downhill rapidly.  He stopped eating and rarely moved.  He died in his kitty house last night shortly after midnight.
Some of you will remember him giving me dirty looks for not having a lawn,  he finally got a lawn and landscaping he really enjoyed.  One of his favorite pass times was to sit out on the front porch and watch the world go by or hide in the plants and flowers in the backyard.
I couldn't have asked for a better cat/friend.

RIP my big handsome buddy.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Out furry friends sure entrench themselves into out lives.

Mrs J.A.F.E. says she's sorry for your loss.

Anything we can do please know we're glad to help.

I'm very sorry for your loss, our 4 legged best friends really do become a much bigger part of our lives than those without them realize.

My cat dissapleared just before July 4th and I really just wish I had some answers, she had to stay at my mom's house and I truly regret not getting to see her more often.

Heartbreaking news Bruce...these little buggers really worm their way into our hearts. My shop helper Oggie is getting up there and is visibly slowing down. I can't even think about being in the shop without her and her opinions on everything.

Very sorry for your loss....Rob

Sorry to hear that Bruce.  Smokey looked like a real character.  My first cat had a similar coat.

Very sorry for your loss and feel your pain. It's always great to have a little garage buddy to hang around us and give encouragement while we're doing chores. Unfortunately for us humans, our little buddies, cats and dogs, do not have a lifespan comparable to us.  We, as pet owners already know this, but it doesn't make it any easier when they pass on.
