This area was the first one and all the posts ended up here. Now that the other areas are being built most of the posts here will be moved to the appropriate areas.
This thread will be deleted after the forum is built.
I for one am quite happy things are getting back.

If something gets moved and seems like it ended up in the wrong place please let one of us know.

Aloha everyone, former member that had to go incognito due to Hawaii ultra liberal pc police gunning for for me. I’m retired now and I hope they will leave me alone. Hope to participate fully here at new GG. Mahalo for all your past friendships and support.

Hi All
I just found this forum, thanks to Rock Auto. Just a little curious. How long has this forum been in existence?
I've spent the last hour or so poking around on it & it looks like this is my kind of people!
As it's getting late, I guess I'll continue looking around more tomorrow.
Cheers,
Tom

The original "The Garage Gazette" had been going for a very long time. Unfortunately, a couple of months ago the entire site was lost during a server hardware upgrade, including the backups, at the company that hosts the site. This is why the forum doesn't have many threads but everyone seems to know each other.

Hi all
Found the site because of the latest Rock Auto newsletter and thought I would give it a try. I spend a fair amount of time in my garage and there isn't much that I won't work on. Currently I spend some of my time on a 26' 1990 Fleetwood Flair motorhome, fuel pumps.

Welcome WoodenNickle, Gramps and boatbum. We have a great group here and don't be afraid to ask any questions tool related as we love talking tools. I look forward to your contributions. ^-^

Hello everyone!
Another Rock Auto directed member. Looked cool, and I decided to join.
I have been collecting tools and working on my own cars (for the most part) for over 30 years now. I have a red 97 Ranger that I have owned for over 13 years, a red 2009 Charger (Wifes car, which we nicknamed Clifford because it is a big red dog...) which we have owned since new, and a white 2010 Buick Lucerne which we have had for almost 2 years now.
from Fishers IN
Regards,
Anson

Real late to the party, Rock Auto may have brought me back to the forum life for now...after the few I have been on for my Fox Mustang went sour....Just trying to keep it on the road without going broke in the process...I have a bunch of pictures but on my old computer...waiting to get that up and running after I destroyed it last January...can't get 10 years on a computer anymore...LOL...by the way,....save all your user names and passwords and answers to security question on paper.....
-
Many thanks to Jabberwoki for helping me find the return path....... ^-^
-
Welcome guys!!! -- glad to "see" you again.
-
Glad you made it Budman.
-
Well I got my old computer back up and moved it out to the garage...LOL...I know "why do that" ....because I can.... I only have a few addresses on that one, keeping it simple...
I even found my user name and passwords for one of my Mustang forums...
Nothing like spending 3 days deleting about 4700 multiples of pictures from my photo app...I will try to get one or two pics of the car on sometime this weekend...it an 89 Gt convertible with 85 thousand miles...I even was able to get the original pictures when I got it home from the dealer....
Thanks for the welcome.....
-
We'll for what its worth....got the grass done and put down some weed-be-gone...here are a few pics of the car....
-

Welcome Wildcat.
I had a 56 Special but I didn't know the Wildcat was as early as 56 I thought they were early 60's. I seem to recall a concept car maybe called a Wildcat I think it was a small one like a Vette from around that era.
In any event glad you found the place.

The Wildcat, Super, and Special were all Buicks of the 50's as well as the Roadmaster. Pop was a Buick man, me not so much. The last one I had sort of ruined me on them, more of a never again.
-
Welcome to the site 56 Wildcat. a blast from the past....
I'll tell you why its better in the past...it took me 7 tools to replace both head light bulbs in my sisters 2014 Kia Optima, went to YouTube to get and idea..and all the sites that said it was an H11B bulb were wrong...H7 was the bulb, I had to remove the battery, move the coolant overflow bottle and make a trip to the parts store for the correct bulbs...no way that should be the norm to replace a head bulb...

Hi everyone! I'm glad to see the Garage Gazette back up and running!
-
Mr Husky....bout time.
-
Welcome duojet55!
-
Welcome you guys -- glad you found the GG.
-
Thanx, guys! I've been busy since last we talked, acquiring a few Husky catalogs, including a 1957 with price list. As soon as I get them scanned, I'll post them here. Also added to my vinyl roll-up pouch wrenches. I still need to replace the New Britain 1/4" X 15/15" open end wrench with a Husky H-1020 to have my first set complete.

Hi Folks, just hopped over from MG. I guess I fit in? I have a 1919 Model T speedster, 1926 Rickenbacker, 1929 Model A and a 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang convertible, all running. And piles and piles and piles and piles and piles of stuff. And about 5 life times of projects and only one life time to do it all in LOL.

And just like Chips and More above I drifted over from MG.. I'm working towards retirement in September and then move my household and shop into a 2 car garage in southern New Mexico. Should be an adventure for sure! My current project car has been a 34 Ford 3 window coupe.
-
My kinda guy! My projects if I ever get a chance to get into them are a 30A coupe and a 46 Ford convertible.
-
Welcome! Love to see pics of the project!
