Who made these swivel sockets??
« on: April 24, 2019, 02:24:40 PM »
These plain steel sockets have numbers and sizes but no maker.  The numbers are 40618-9/16, 40622-11/16 and 40624-3/4".  My guess would be plomb, but that would only be a guess.  Any ideas.

The numbers correspond to older SK swivel sockets.

Took a quick look at a couple catalogs at the following link and Plomb appears to have used the same/similar 4 digit part numbers that continued into the Proto era. Doesn't rule Plomb out as the OEM but makes it less likely.

The numbers correspond to older SK swivel sockets.

Their current part number is real close too. Just 6 point instead of 12.

Sure looks like the winner is S-K.  As mentioned, the same part # for a 6 point as my 12 point 11/16.
