Two of them look rather depressed. I guess cruising the boulevard all night and nobody hitting on them makes them not happy. The driver sure is smiling though and I wonder what she is looking forward to.

It must have been quite the extravaganza when those Parade of Progress Harley Earl designed GM Futurliners showed up in small towns across the US. People at the time were pretty isolated not only on a social level, but also culturally and technologically as well. I can easily see where the arrival of the various GM displays and associated lectures were one of the most significant events in their lives.

I'd really hate to encounter a low bridge while driving one of those.

Well that should yield a "couple" of cords for the old wood stove! -- LOL

Kidding aside, I'm always in awe of the men that brought down and milled those huge trees into usable lumber; often with just very with basic hand tools

The bike with the SBC must have been a blast to ride. wasn't going far with no radiator but it would sure get there fast. Looks like a 3X2 intake as well.

Very interesting. Looks like it must have been a 1/4 miler. Not much fuel in that little tank and I don't see a headlight. Interesting exhaust system. The center carb must have been plated off - no room under the frame.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

Yes , 1/4mile drag bike. He built several through the years. Wish I could recall his name.
Very different kind of guy , raced his entire life.

Would love to be there for this conversation. That's Carroll Shelby on the left for those not in the know...
