Yes Ray I can license in Tn as a medium speed vehicle and can drive on roads with speed limits under 40.

And John, it came from Japan via an importer from Texas and dropped at my door by a transporter.

I would always be walking up to the left door to get in. I have never even driven something that is righthand drive. I like it a lot and it would be a perfect size between the mower with the dump cart and the tractor bucket to move stuff.

Pretty cool ride Bob. I've noticed that the "truck style" ATV market has exploded, but the prices are just ridiculous on the damn things, so one of these little gems might just be the ticket for someone with a need for farm repairs. ATVs used to be reasonably priced; these days the prices are pushing into compact passenger car territory.

Gang,

I've noticed many of these "micro trucks" on large school campuses.  They get used for all kinds of deliveries and hauling supplies & equipment to work sites.  That said, I've never seen one on a public road... probably for obvious reasons.

Then I applied contact cement to the back side of the seat at the tear. I cut patches out of some blue jeans that must have stunk on me and didn’t fit anymore.

I applied glue to the fort patch that overlaid about an inch past the tear. Then I did a second patch about an inch larger. I let it set for awhile the reassembled everything.

My turn signals never worked when I bought it so after a couple weeks of searching with no luck I bit the bullet and and ordered a used multifunction switch from Japan. New replacement was $300 and used was still painful at $170.
I finally used a puller I have had for 10 years. Back then with coupon it was probably $8 bucks, I can’t remember.

Does it even have an airbag in the steering wheel? I thought all street legal vehicles had to meet the DOT safety requirements for the year they were built unless it’s over 25 years old. I could be wrong about that. I couldn’t even get that out of my driveway. Even the speed limit on my road is 45 mph and the speeds get higher as my road connects to other roads. The nearest road with a speed limit of 40 or under is about 10 minutes away. You have to just about get to the town square before the speed limit drops that low. No houses way out here so you get to drive faster but you’re at greater risk of rear ending a combine.

I finally got around to addressing the horrible suspension on this thing. The front coils are inadequate at best when new. I found a guy online who has sourced some variable rate coils and has modified some Monroe air shocks for the rear. I gave them a shot for $325 shipped. Fronts first. The trick of changing these without the special spring compressor is to remove the top stud nut and lower the strut with a jack.

The new springs are ground flat so they don’t seat like the original did but it doesn’t seem to matter.

Now the hard part is getting the threaded strut rod back up in the hole by raising it with the floor jack while guiding with the other hand. this is when you need three hands. After several try’s I had success. And then tightened them down with my new Horrible Fright battery ratchet. As you can probably not see, the springs lifted the front an inch and an 1/8.

It doesn’t dip and roll like did before. No more white knuckle at 50.

While fixing the diff seal leak and torn cv boot I discovered the brakes are dragging and the outside pad is half worn out while the inside looks new. While I have it jacked up I may as well clean the rusty assembly and try to free up the caliper movement. What type of brake grease should I use on the slides and rubber. There are a few different types and I don’t read Japanese so any help would be appreciated.

Get some NAPA Syl-Glide Bob. It's silicone based, heat resistant, and pretty friendly on the rubber pieces.

If the caliper is sticking slightly, you may have to remove the piston and hone the bore a bit. If it's totally frozen, then a replacement may be called for.

Hey, the pics are upright so far. I bought these Air shocks in a kit with the front springs back pre Corona. ( apocalypse) I installed them about 30 days BC. ( before corona). So I have time this 17th day AC to post because the sh&$ bag framers didn’t show up this morning at 7:00 as promised.  :41:

So I will stumble forward because I have nothing else to do right now. The kit come with shocks /\ see above ,and air lines with dandy multi lingual detailed instructions .  They are going to replace these cute little shocks that would be more suited for PEP’s RC cars.

After removing the old shocks I discovered the mounting stud was to short to get the nut started on the wider shock. I promptly employed my shock bushing reducing machine to remedy the interference. I am glad I had invested in that years BC. I then completed that part of the install with the provided washer. Nice touch from the seller.

Next it was on to the air lines. I grabbed the instructions and read up. I located a gas tank brace that was perfect for the air line tee to mount to so I grabbed my drill and a 1/4 inch bit as directed in the instructions. Wait... that doesn’t look right. 1/4 inch is to small for the valve stem. So I got a 5/16 and drilled the right size hole. I ran and trimmed the lines up out of harms way the best I could and used a combination of zip ties and the nifty line clips provided.

So now all that is left is a quick air up and go test drive.  :91:
It won’t take air.  What the heck! Upon closer inspection the valve core was cross threaded. So I got my valve tool out and removed the damaged valve and chased the threads to except a new one.
 :38:
No valves in toolbox. I guess it has been over a decade sense I have messed with motorcycle or quad tires. ( I have tire shops do my real vehicles). Off to part store.
Well, it aired right up after installing a new valve and I can’t find any leaks so I guess I’m ready for a test drive. I spun around the neighborhood and hit a few bumps.

I come to the conclusion that the new shocks have provided no real improvement over the old worn out ones.  :))

And as far as the useless instructions go........ I will save them for when I run out of toilet paper. At least I will get something out of this project.

I worked on the large fender dent first which took several glue pulls with the bridge puller and the slide hammer with a large glue tab to pull the deep dent outward. I used the pop dent puller with smaller tabs to pull smaller targeted areas.

On to the long crease across the front for now. I self inflicted this one awhile back when I thought I had the truck in neutral and bumped the starter through the window and it started and proceeded to run into my work bench.  :-\

The kit comes with several different shaped glue tabs to best match your dent. I used narrow ones placed along the crease to pull out a little at a time. I guess I made maybe 20 different pulls down through it and I may need some more after I can view the dent better with a line board. This is all new to me but I have watched numerous YouTube videos and I slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Well I had a few days off this week so I bought a couple parts for the mini. A gas cap and a tailpipe doesn’t have much in common but they only cost $10 bucks total.

Next, cut a commercial fuel dispenser hose to length at an angle so it doesn’t look planned. ( Everyone has those laying around).  :D  Then drill out the shut off guts and add some chain.  :017:

The best part is I've made thousands of dollars fixing that issue when customers drive off with nozzle in tank. Seen pumps pulled right off the island and catch on fire from someone forgetting.

Bet you get lots of attention from that   :))

The mini battery gave up . I knew it was a matter of time so here we go. The Japanese battery has very small posts so the original cables can’t be used to clamp directly onto an American style that I have seen. So off to Wally to see what they have. Some folks use motorcycle or lawn mower batteries and cut cables to attach to side post style applications. I found an exact size battery to fit with the original hold downs and I found some terminal clamps that should convert to the larger posts.

Suzuki Carry, DD51T, Japanese mini truck, battery swap.

Maybe this will draw some new people to site.

So I snapped the wing nut clamp off the new clamps and snapped the copper straps off just leaving one hole to run clamp bolt thru.

So you replaced the battery and have the fake fuel hose hanging out......

Are you going to run some line so it looks like your vehicle is sparking, by the hose?  (really clear out traffic)
