Nothing new, Fram was considered crap back when I was wrenching in the mid 80s. They still in bidness tho. Most folks are clueless about oil or filters, Whatevers cheap.

I used to cut filters on our dirt track car just to see if any dirt was getting ingested. unless something let go in the motor there was nothing in them.

Nothing surprising here... Fram is still garbage, has been for years.

I would have like to see the OEMs to include Toyota and Mobile 1 filters.

Used Fram when I was young and never had a problem but was quite good at changing my oil at 3000 miles.  Then I felt the weight difference between a fram and good filter and quite using them.   They did have a good marketing campaign though

Very interesting video.  We use Champ filters on the farm and they have been of good quality.  I've also used Napa Gold and Wix.

Dang, I used FRAM filters up until about 2 years ago on the Toyota.  :-[  Till my friend told me they were complete junk and I HAD to change brands.
I never had an issue with FRAM - but now I use Wix.

Not sure if Wix still makes the NAPAs. Wix was sold to Mann+Hummel back in 16 so everything may have changed between then and now.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

I used Toyota filters on my 4Runner until the accident.  They were the only ones that came with a replacement crush washer and were not much more than a premium aftermarket.

Was also a big Wix fan until I needed one of the cartridge filters for my daughter's Saturn; found it was made in China after I got it home. :-[

Thinking this thru ....... if Wix is made in china and Fram USA, after viewing the flick. I am to understand the Fram is the preferred filter?

But everyone is just fine driving and buying the cars ...... reads like penny smart, and pound foolish :-\
