Laser bore siting for rifles
« on: November 19, 2019, 10:41:16 PM »
Anybody had any experience with them?
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

I bought one a few years ago & used it on a Remington 511 .22 with a Weaver V22 scope.  Worked well lateral, but I had to play with the elevation old style.  I think I didn't follow the height of the scope above the bore directions quite right.  It did save some time.

I have the older grid style bore sighter and have a laser one for 22 cal.  It works and will get you on the target. You still need sight the gun in.

Waste of money. Just take the bolt out and look at the target at 25yds through the barrel. Adjust the scope while holding boresighted on the target. Shoot, hold steady on the bullseye, then (helps to have somebody do it while you hold) adjust the scope crosshairs to the bullet hole. Repeat a few times until you're dead on at 25, then shoot 100 and get it dialed in.

I’ve always shot it in at 25 yds then went out to 100 then further   If you can’t hit the paper at 25 yds you got problems

I have had them laser bore sighted when I've got the shop to mount scopes. Still had to do adjustment's at the range to true zero
