New revolver
« on: December 11, 2019, 08:52:17 PM »
I thought I`ve been good lately so I grabbed this Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in 454 casull and got a sweet holster from those blokes in Alaska.
I heard they`ve stopped making these so I nabbed a new one whilst I could.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

Dang that's a short barrel and long cartridges!

What are you trying to stop? An elephant?   :))

The recoil from that short a barrel revolver with that particular cartridge must be systemically brutal. Good luck with it.

I have an older Redhawk 7-1/2 inch 44 Mag. and it kicks like a mule. I can only imagine what that thing is like.

I `ve fired one of these that a mate had a I don`t remember it being horrible. I`ve not fired it yet but it should be about the same as my SW.500.

I'd definitely get it ported if it aint already. you should be able to tackle anything in north America with that beasty.

At least the grip looks beefy enough, those original .454s with the bisley grips were brutal to shoot.

Rut row now you're on the commies' registration watch list in the P.R.W.. Hope you didn't have to pay Tacoma's new BS gun tax.

You're going have to get serious about reloading now. That ain't 22LR price to go plinking with. Nice iron.

Have you done much shooting with this thing yet?

I have always wanted one of these big bore handguns with a 6"-8" barrel. It's the $1.50-$2.50 per round that has kept me away.

Na not yet im recovering from a shoulder surgery to my right side so I`ve got to heal up first.
Reality is you done shoot much so it`s not that bad plus reloading helps, but this bigguns sure are fun.

I would hate to fire that in low light or dark conditions.  It would be a massive flame bloom.

Rotator cuff? I had both shoulders replaced last year and am just about done with rehab on the left one. I have no desire to go through that again.
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!
