This is a surprise to me. This mower is for sale locally. I’m not buying even though it’s only $40. It supposedly works. This would be cool to see if it were restored. No chance if getting any parts that are missing.

My father had one of those back in the day, what a mess with the cord dragging behind you all the time and having to keep from running over it. Plugged into 110 and used a 100 foot cord.

I found a COOL AS HELL 2 stroke version when I Googled it.

That is too cool. When I saw the first pic I was thinking - would a gas motor fit on that ? I would love to bring that home to my "green" girlfriend to push around.
-
Where can I get a single cylinder two stroke engine similar to that? It looks like a Cox engine for RC planes.

Every once in a while I'll see a lawn mower with a 2 cycle motor on it. That same deck style too.
-
The deck on the 2-cycle one is different from the electric one but they both are cool and look like they want to eat something.
-
The only difference I see between the two decks is that the depression for the two stroke version is bigger and extends more forward. You couldn’t put the two stroke engine on the deck of the electric version. It wouldn’t fit.
