Put one of them in something rat rod'ish and call it slightly offensive.
It would be offensive to many peoples touch, sight, smell, and especially sound...................maybe even taste. :D

Awesome rat rod powerplant. Don't even clean it up. The rattier the better.

Back in the 70's those engines were in demand. The dive boat we mainly used in the mid 70's had 2 of those monsters in it when the owner bought it. He traded those engines to a guy who gave him 2 new Cummins in exchange. When he bought the 58' boat it was a hydrofoil and he removed the foils and even with the Cummins we made the 26 miles to Catalina Island in an hour.
Those engines look like parts machines only.

Ran when parked?
:08: :P :NIGHT_1: We'll be here all week.

I was going to make a snarky comment about the motor still being in a Greyhound Scenicruiser in one of the pics, but quickly found out that the powerplant was not in that bus.
Regardless, here's a mild attempt at derailing the thread and offering a behind the scenes look at that iconic bus.

Now, back to your regular scheduled broadcast. ;)

I got to drive one of those Scenicruiser beauties home from a bar for a friend one night.

That's my dream hot rod RV.
Except id have a 16v92tt powering it with big arse pipes out the back.

Plenty of YT vids out there on those machines. Undergoing reconstruction, pulling motors, etc. Fascinating.

When I worked the petrochems, the fire protection system ran a couple of V16 DD. We ran these things monthly to exercise them. nothing like firing one of those up and running it WOT. It takes your breath away to be in the same building with it. Quite impressive to see it pushing a 12in stream of water 150ft out into the emergency basin.
we had built a new process building and they wanted to test the fire control system. 3-4 floors of open structures. they had people with buckets scattered thruout the buildings to check volume delivery. When we fired that DD up the whole building disappeared in a rain storm. I was damned impressed. :bravo_2:
