i had some cleanup work to do last weekend and throughout the coming fall. i wanted a bigger saw than i had. i am normally leaning towards stihl as that is what i have had for years. honestly, i couldn't afford what i wanted from stihl and stumbled upon this saw for 399 plus tax with a factory sponsored 3 free chains.. well that alone is the better part of 100 dollar bill. i had to drop 35 bucks for the case out of my own pocket as well.
the echo cs-590 timberwolf is a no frills 60 ( 59.8 ) cc class saw with a 20 inch bar and 3/8 chain. single bumper spike (an outside spike is an option i may add), automatic clutch driven oiler for less oil consumption, decompression valve for easier starts and translucent fuel tank for visual fuel level checks.
it gets pretty good reviews but the proof is in the pudding. as you can see it has been used already. i put about 4 or 5 tanks of fuel through it last weekend. it handles the 20 inch bar quite well and that 3/8 chain really move some material. quite literally, the thing is a beast. there was about 5 other saws cutting with me. all of them stihl saws and all smaller but hands down the other guys were impressed. i am quite happy with the amount of saw for the money and would make the deal again. even without the 3 free chains.
oh yea, the 5 year warranty doesn't hurt either!

the hands on end. pretty standard. throttle in the handle, simple toggle switch to the left and choke lever to the right. the starter rope is in the upper left and the center thumb knob is used to access the air filter. just out of the picture on the left is a decompression button that is near the top handle on top of the cylinder.

I love no frills machinery. Simpler to get used to, and maintain!

4 or 5 tanks, Man yall was doing some cutting. I've got a 20in echo around here somewhere but I dont go looking for it unless I have to. that thing will wear me out long before it gets tired.

Echos are surprisingly good saws. :bravo_2:

Good looking saw and good looking case.

I'm partial to the Echo myself. Great lookin' saw; - hope it provides many years of service for you Harlan.

I really didn't lnow much about them either. My local farm store put in a whole display least year. About 10 different echo saws and an assortment of trimmers, blowers, edgers, and hedge clippers plus all of the oils, chains bars, string and assorted bits. I started doing the homework and heard mostly good stuff.
Maybe we should be calling it shindaiwa?

I really like my Echo chainsaws. I have a CS-360 arborist saw and a CS-310 . Both run great with little vibration.

yes we did. we had a wood cutting day at the campground we will be at next year. a huge pile of 6-8 foot logs from 3-30 plus inches. about 10 of us spent 6 hours cutting and splitting last saturday.
maybe we need a show us your echo chainsaw or any chainsaw for that matter.

I don't have an echo saw but if I had a saw it would be an echo or redmax. I do however have an echo trimmer, echo blower and and echo tiller and being as they are all over ten yrs and the trimmer being closer to twenty, i think the brand makes excellent equipment.

That would be awesome. I bet Jabber has some nice saws.
