I do the feeling, the gauge just provides the precision.

My dad called em feeler, therefore, I call them feeler gauges. Just like the gas axe and bull prick. I knew what to bring when it was asked for. Haha

Gas axe I know.  What is a bull prick?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,tool wise? :))

The "bull prick" was/is a big punch. Good for aligning holes, prying on stuff to line it up and hitting with a hammer to get things aligned in his world.
The original is on the right and the "new" one is on the left. When I saw em I bought five from epstien so I would have several.

that is a rail road track piece those are laying on. ALso great for a press and beating on stuff.

They're indispensable for aligning bolt holes in steel girders and such when hanging iron for building erection. I've got several different sizes from my past work life. one of them is bent too. dont recall how that happened. Pretty sure I didn't bend it with a hammer.

All good stuff Jeff. That said, I think one of the "gems" in that lot is the vintage rosin core solder. The stuff just seems to flow better than modern alloys. I still have a ton of 1950's solder from my dad's time and I'm always thankful that he bought this stuff in bulk. He was a HAM radio enthusiast and solder was always on the shopping list.

I don't do much electrical stuff, but I have those Channellock wire strippers and like them.
Probably just because they're Channellock though,  because I likely wouldn't know the difference.

Those Craftsman USA wrenches are getting more valuable by the year. Some crazy prices on ebay for vintage raised panel Craftsman -- even in the standard SAE sizes. Nice haul Jeff!

They were crazy a couple years ago but recently I've seen relatively reasonable prices for them, mint / NOS sets though they were 90's+.
Socket sets never really seem to be priced too crazy unless they're the large piece count sets then the prices can be hundreds.
Typical homeoener type Craftsman 3/8 or 1/4 sets can be had in good condition for under $50, but my idea of reasonable prices may be different.

50 cent sockets is right up my alley. I never find that kind of stuff at our restore place but I haven't been in a while. Ill have to schedule a trip and see.

The local Restore never has tools. A while back I saw two Upanor cases. I strolled on over about the time one of the builders who works with them came by and asked where he set those plumbing tools down at. They belonged to the restore group....
