1/2" WRENCHES
« on: September 14, 2018, 05:35:05 PM »
My road box seems to loose my 1/2" combo wrenches quite often. I work on smaller equipment and 1/2" seems to be a popular size wrench. Now I have none in the box and I refuse to put my good snap On's in the road box.  Today I found 4 1/2" combo's and a DOE wrenches in 1/2". I got a Proto 1216T Professional , SK 88216 , Easco 63 116 , Truecraft 1016 , and a Williams Superwrench 1723A 1/2" x 3/8" open end wrench. I had to go through a shoe box full of Taiwan wrenches to find these. It was marked $ 5.00 for the whole box. I took these for the $ 5.00 and left the rest. I don't want Taiwan tools , not even for that much. I wonder how long before these disappear.

I snag every American made 1/2, 9/16 and 11/16 I find. The 11/16 takes the most abuse around here. The older Ford tractors used 11/16 for everything.

1/2 sure is good to have.
I just realized my Craftsman ignition wrenches didn't include 1/2" which is a bit of a bummer, I put them in my 1/4" garage set and liked the idea of a wrench to accompany each socket.
I'm sure I've got a small 1/2 I can include though, one of the TRW' Doe's might be include 1/2.
I'd prefer a 1/2" box so I'll have to look.
Always lookin' to learn

I really like those S/O open end flare wrenches. I've been slowly switching over to them from my regular flare wrenches.

Here's another cool one, a 1938 Wright hand-forged combo wrench in 1/2 (left)
