Kent moore What's It
« on: October 20, 2018, 08:51:17 PM »
I have this socket and not sure what it's for. Too small for a ball joint and too shallow for a sensor and whatever it is must be pretty think and flat.

I have a couple more images one showing the part number I'll post up later after I (hopefully) get some responses.

I'm thinking it's an alignment tool for a specific GM manufacturered vehicle. Or maybe a wheel bearing socket.

It's a socket to remove Motorcraft carburetor power valves.

If I come across a Motorcraft carb I'll be in good shape but it's 3/8 drive.

I thought J tools were GM specific.  I assumed Ford tools would have a different prefix but I am not positive

Yes, J usually is the GM prefix. It was later replaced with a 1/4 drive version that was for GM power valves, so I'm wondering if it fits an earlier GM valve as well as Motorcraft, which I believe Holley is the OEM.

That is very interesting. I have a Carter box with some carb tools in it and this will go in there.
