I have had some of these in my Walden collection for years, and often go there to use one. This 1/2" new in box was one of the ones missing from my set. As you can see, the head is split and slightly larger than 1/2", you insert the bolt/nut and slide the sleeve down to tighten it and they will not fall out. The last picture shows it holding a 3 1/2" bolt.

cool idea. amazing condition of the box and tool as well.

That is cool and it just goes to show, what is old is now new again. I say this because a couple of years ago, I bought 2 Blue Point locking nut drivers. Had never seen them before and thought the idea had some merit. Sadly, nobody has agreed enough to actually buy them :41:

I actually like the Walden style better and I can see applications. In my industry, a lot of TEK screws are uses to hold panels on and some are not easily accessible and I drop the screws often. Of course a magnetic nut driver would work just fine on steel screws.

At that price the Blue Points must be make of platinum.

So, it's like a screw starter but for bolts? That could be handy! :great:

...but the phatman will sell them to you for only the price of gold.

Never seen the blue point version, but I know identical looking examples with a different brand name are available as GOVT surplus from Sportsman's guide.
They only ever have a few sizes so I've never bought one, but they don't cost much at all.
