Gold in them there scrap yards!
« on: October 28, 2020, 03:44:12 PM »
Picked this lot up this morning, after thinking about overnight.

Not sure what all is in there, but the sockets go up to 2-1/2", there are two breaker bars, extensions, some Proto LA, and so on. Even a MAC 11/16"s wrench. I need another 3/4 wrench as much as I need another hole in my head, but I do love the pebble and it was at a price I couldn't turn down. $200.

There are easily over 100 pounds of tools in there.

THAT is a nice haul. I'd have paid that as well ... and I don't even need another 3/4" set.

Also digging the pebble.

The one socket laying on it's side looks like a plomb

All of the sockets are either Plomb 7/8"s to 2-1/2"s (most of them), Proto La, one P&C, and one regular Proto. Has two breaker bars, an eight-inch extension, and one 1" drive socket (2-3/8"), which is not the biggest socket! What is interesting is it a mostly black oxide set. Never seen that before. Now I need a black oxide ratchet...

Nice , whats the tool box?
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

Yep, looks like the 30's 3/4 drive I have. That is a great haul.

A random military box, it looks like a generic 3/4 drive box.

Due to the blake oxide nature of 90% of what is there, in other words, a complete set, but it being pebbled along with five band sockets, I would guess that it's '44-'45.

Thats a cool old set. and a steal of a price too.  :bravo_2:

I still use the 3/4 sockets from time to time and would not be afraid to put those back to work.

You should ask lugnutz over gj about the box.
