WTB Brown and Sharpe 495 model practor blades
« on: January 26, 2024, 07:10:27 PM »
Slim chance anyone will have B & S Universal Protractor head blades to fit a model # 495 Protractor head, but I want to make sure I can't buy one or both before buying stock to make a set. Blades are 6" & 12" long, and each end is not square, but angled at 45 degrees.

Like I said, not likely anyone has just blades, but still worth asking.

Also, B&S blades has a groove that runs it's length and is dead center of the blade just like a blade for a tri square.

I'm not going to be much help. My Vernier Protractor is a German Stiefelmayer. But quite sure there's someone with a Brown & Sharp out there somewhere.

It's common place to hear that German engineering is difficult to beat. Consequently I appreciate German Fine Measuring Instruments, Machinery, and Cars.. This German Stiefelmayer Vernier Protractor was given to me by a old retiring Tool Maker nearly 50 years ago. Though it's been used  sparingly, I guard this treasure entrusted to me...
