That's ok rural. It will reverse in 6 months and we will see who is laughing. ;)

Thanks for posting that chart as it is very interesting. I thought you got colder temps than that but must just be the higher elevations. I guess I will have to check to see the difference in latitudes we are on.

Woke up this morning, 35 and a bit of snow. The mountains around town were totally covered - looked more like Colorado than Arizona.

Low tonight is supposed to drop to 26-27. So the roads will likely be iced. Not good going to work. Got all the preventative measures up and running. Luckily the wifes car is in the garage so her windows won't be iced.

Luckily, the temp at the house only went to 30. Got colder in the valleys and low lying areas, but we didn't get hit with the forecasted hard freeze. I don't mind cold weather, but with houses built with the desert in mind - and don't get really cold most years - anything much below about 30 cause problems. Heck the last time it hit 18 the main water valve out by the street got stuck! And good luck calling the water company - their two service trucks were weeks out I'm sure! >:(
So, I'm glad the deep cold didn't materialize locally.

Tauranga sits at the same latitude as Richmond, VA. However, we sit beside a huge thermal sink, ie the sea, so tend not to have really low temperatures. Overall, nowhere in New Zealand is 100 miles from the sea. Also there is no towns (>1,000 pop.) higher than 2,500'

Gang,

This morning it was 45 degrees and overcast with no winds.  This afternoon it is low 70's with light winds out of the south (meaning warmer temps and higher humidity's).  This is fairly normal winter weather.  Later in the week we are supposed to get rain, or so the weatherman says.  We got shorted 5" of rain last year, but what the hell... Belton Lake is full (6 feet over what the Army Corps of Engineers likes to see).

At any rate, I hope you are all high & dry and near a well stocked refrigerator.  :-\

Mid 30s during the day around here. Supposed to get a little colder during the next few nights.

Raining right now, bought tired of rain.

Average is about 40" a year last year we got about 60"

Breaking News--  Winter is finally here in Central Texas.

Morning temp was 31 degrees with popcorn snow (i.e. tiny balls of snow/ice) and stiff winds out of the north.   The first snow of the winter and the year.

Current temp now is 32 degrees with a mix of rain and snow.  Roads are slick.

Will see how things look in the morning when I let the hounds out for a squirt.  Right now I'm going to fire up the fire place and see what's going on the Republican National News channel (i.e. Fox News).

On the weather report this morning they said it was 1 degree. I can't believe them as it was 3 degrees. ;D
