Haven't bought any used ratchets in a long time, but today at my favorite "Big Daddy's" week-end shopping sales area, I found a 3/8"drive Craftsman 44995 L-AF 84 tooth ratchet.
Used but not abused, but needed total cleaning and inside lubrication.
Taking it apart was easy but this new design was different from my others.
Just dry and dirty.
After cleaning out the fine dirt and lubing with machine oil, re-assembly was a little tricky due to tiny parts and first time working on one of these new designs.
Super fine teeth, and 80 year old fingers, it is all back together and works 100% perfect.
I have some NEW Matco and Snap-on ratchets that have this high count number of teeth, but first time
dis-assembling one.
I'm guessing that the max torque rating on this one is 35#.
The overall weight is HEAVY though. I'll use it soon on Lawn tractor maintenance.
