At one time I handled a lot of glass and I used a vacuum grip to handle it. I used a couple types depending on how large the lite was and how thick (heavy) it was. Great for automotive glass as well. They make a lot of stuff for industrial and commercial but also smaller stuff for hand use. At one time I bought direct but not sure if they deal direct or use dealers.
