Will post pictures later.
I was visiting my relatives yesterday and my uncle asked me if I needed a drill press because he was getting rid of 3.
I told him I could always use a potential upgrade.
He had an old king brand ( Taiwanese) that's not powerful enough for his needs, an old HF drill press he was given, and a Craftsman he used before getting the king.
I chose the Craftsman of course.
It's not very old though, doesn't have a light, and is made in China.
Maybe it's not a lot better but it is a bit larger and heavier than the small HF model I have, and while the depth stop is not metal on it either, he got a lot of use out of it and this piece is still good to go so it must be made of a better plastic than mine which broke off the first time I tried to use it.
It's pretty rusty and will need a bit of cleanup, but I hope it's a little more powerful than what I have currently , and hope the chuck is a bit higher quality

Heres the before and after, turns out it was mainly just dirty aside from the rust on the tube and chuck.
BTW , anyone got a spare key for a 1/2" chuck ?

It's definitely a better drill press for sure, I didn't even know it before but the little HF drill press sounds horrible.

That's an easy find, look on the chuck there should be a number, that will get the right key for it. Not all chucks are the same. You may need to source a McMaster-Carr type of outfit

Will do, thanks for the heads up.
I think it's T33 or something like that, I'll look.

If you find JT33 that is the taper size and not the chuck key size.

Okay thanks.
The only markings I could find are RJ33-13L.

I have a box of chuck keys. I pick them up at garage / estate sales. If you know what number it is , I'll take a look.

Supposedly a Jacob's 30251 or any k32 type will work according to a GJ thread that popped up in my Google search.

That is a nice little score.

I wasn't going to even take a look, but I'm glad I did.
If this had a light my small HF model might go, though that one is much easier to stow away and pull out when I need it.
I'm probably going to have to come up with a stand for this one, maybe something I can roll out of the way.
Hopefully he finds good homes for the other two and doesn't just take 'em to the dump, they're cheap imports but theres not a lot to go wrong with a drill press and theres always someone who could use it.

I haven't found that key yet. I'll keep looking.

Thank you for looking, I really appreciate it
