pretty impressive puller. doesn't smoke and barely changes speed/sound under load. i thought they dropped a little smoke just idling

of course he isn't moving super fast and it looks like pretty mellow nice dirt.

Impressive, that crawler wasn't laboring in the least.  It was almost like the old girl was out for a Sunday stroll! There was a lot of umph left in her, wasn't showing any indication it was struggling in any way.

A D9 Cat is a damned big machine. I wouldn't think that was much of a load on it.

This thread sent me down a Youtube rabbit hole that ended up at the deep ploughing of the moor lands of Germany and The Netherlands where the top layer soil is ploughed under and the lighter sand and peat soil is brought to the surface to make the land more suitable for crops and easier to work on.

Historically...
