Auto industry makes a full circle
« on: January 07, 2019, 07:16:47 AM »
Not sure about others, but the past couple of years I've seen station wagons . Seeing them thoughts were, smarter than an SUV, need more. I read on Drudge the market is alive and coming back ...... smart !

That takes hold it will be good for the owners, cost will cut way down. One simple example, brakes, SUV's eat them, I'm sure you can come up with your own. That tired out argument, millage is a given, think of others.

Station Wagons, are safer, back in the day rollovers were only seen at the track, today common as a rear-end hit. As a casual observer of life, have always wondered why the frequency of roller overs has never been properly addressed.  They told people tires were the problem, somehow the fact that the things are top heavy. . Has never crossed, the over educated, lacking in common sense, little minds. Hell even the the smartest machine ever invented, a computer would have shown that.  :-\

Of course watching cops flipping ass hats over will be less, on the other side they still have the dogs.... :D

I owned a '64 Galaxy 500 Country Squire (Woodie) with the big Ford 390 V8 -- It was a great High School party bus in the early 70's. Loved that car --

I'd love to see them come back. Last year I was actually looking for a Caddy CTS wagon or Dodge Magnum, but they have a pretty loyal following in the DC region and good ones were very hard to come by at a reasonable price. Hence I went DTS, but if Caddy or Lincoln bring a nice luxury version back, I'll definitely consider it.

Good point about the rollovers pep. Most fatal rollovers in this state are SUVs. I know in high school station wagons were looked on about as favorably as the jacked in the rear vans that were the rage by most girl's fathers. ;D

I always liked wagons just like the styling. Especially two door wagons. But I guess the two door days are pretty much over for just about everything around here it seems even most of the new pickups are four doors. Corvette, Camaro, Mustang and such aside.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

Guys...don't forget the rear facing seat! Nothing like having a group of rowdy kids making faces at you while driving behind a vista cruiser :D
