This Ingersoll air gun i`ve had since new has decided to only spin one direction the other way it just hisses?
Not a lot of miles on it and regularly oiled.

PB Blaster has an aerosol can of air tool "medic" spray it in let it set awhile then use it. Dissolves gum in the passages. Worked on my air ratchet. If not, get a kit & rebuild it. Not hard to do.

Warm up some marvel mystery oil pour in inlet and let soak should revive it if not rebuild it

Since it works one way and not the other I would assume an o ring failed in the directional switch

Agree with Tim. If it leaks air, then the valve has a sealing issue.

I have the MAC version of that made by IR and found the exploded view found online helpful.

Worked on a good many air impacts, surprising simple inside, basic tools will get them apart. The Ingersolls, its 231 and brothers, are nice to work on.

I'm going with a bad oring or seal. if it runs in one direction it should run in the other. Its just a vaned air motor. if the vanes are sticking it wont run in either direction.
