I have been looking for something to keep my grobet files in and found this pouch at walmart.
I have been using a ziploc bag and this zipper pouch is an upgrade.
-
Nice idea -- and definitely makes sense to go that route for file storage, but I'd put some paper towels or cloth in there to keep them from knocking against each other.
-
Good idea i wrapped the files up in wax paper.

If those are the mini files, I would guess you can repurpose those dental kits my hygienist hands out with every cleaning. I've yet to come up with a re-purpose for those (often clear), but sometimes opaque bags.

This pouch will do for now but i am still looking for something better like a long pencil box. I have one glardon vallorbe needle file that is 8" long.
Amason sells a needle file holder but it will only hold 6" long files .

Looks like a man purse to me!
At least it's transparent so it's TSA approved. :))

Well ebay calls them about any thing you want.
Walmart sells them to go in ladies luggage but TSA probably likes to see them.

My significant other and YES, I married way up, sewed me some sleaves for files and such(chain, receiver hitch, and other such) out of old denim jean legs. I gave her the dimensions or a look at what I was trying to have held and she was able to make some real nice sheathes and bags.

I made a leather pouch for the Mayhew mini pick set I got Crispycritter for one of his GGSS gifts.
I still need to make another for my set, but it'll be easy now since I have the design finalized.
Not that the 1st one took more than 5 minutes to make anyways

Elroy resembles that remark :040:

For small files I use plastic drinking straws as sleeves. I pinch one end and glue it. I guess vacuum line caps could be used to close the straws but I don't bother since they don't travel. For larger files I just wrap paper around the file and a layer of tape on the outside - it lasts a lot longer than I would have thought.

Drinking Straws!!! -- Excellent idea Steve. I will implement that idea this week. I currently have my small jewelers and ignition files wrapped in paper sleeves. Not optimal, but the plastic drinking straw idea is perfect. Tape straws together to make an entire pouch.

How funny, my pop always kept his assortment of small jewelers files standing on end in an old coffee can. I think he knew the rules for files, and I do too. I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree. I just moved his can of files from his shop to mine and there they set. Maybe I will get the time to do something about that someday, but I doubt it. I have so many other pressing issues to work out in my shop.
